The word “steward” denotes a person that cares for someone as well as for his or her property. This well describes the duty of the pest management professional today.
One of the most important aspects of being in the pest management industry is understanding the responsibility of protecting the health and property of our clients. We take great pride in performing our service in such a way that minimizes risk while at the same time maximizes the effects of our service. It is with that in mind that I take great pride in our acceptance into the Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP).
Our providing evidence of our commitment to the principles of Integrated Pest Management along with the development of our exclusive Cat-Guard System (a non-chemical method of excluding pests) demonstrates our desire to reduce the use of pesticides. We are eager to have an independent agency track our progress and measure our improvement as we work closely with the program. The establishment of training seminars for clients and agencies like the Visiting Nurses has also provided additional proof of our determination in educating the public. After evaluating our current procedures and operating philosophy, we were accepted into the program, much to our excitement.
This stresses our commitment to providing effective and environmentally-sound pest management. We look forward to working closely with the staff of the PESP as we continue to pursue our mutual goal of reducing the risk associated with the over-use of pesticides. Our acceptance into the program is an indicator that we have been developing new methods of caring for the needs of our clients while protecting the environment.
