We have a confession to make.
Here at Catseye Pest Control, we are addicted to Pinterest. Not that it’s a bad thing; our monthly company potlucks have just as many lip-smacking recipes found on Pinterest as the yummy “passed down from Mom” dishes. We even have our own Pinterest where we share fun DIY projects, home improvement suggestions and tasty recipes.
Well, we’re taking our Pinterest obsession one step further and joining all the “Pinned It, Made It” fun. There are many bloggers sharing their experiences of making those awesome DIY projects they find out there in Pinterest land. Now we want to get crafty too! Join us each month for a new family friendly craft that will let you and your kids explore the world of insects together.
And without further adieu, here is our first “Pinned It, Made It” edition:
Miniature Insect World
We pinned this easy project from Asia’s blog Fun at Home with Kids and were inspired by all the room for imaginative play.
Here is what you will need to make your own Miniature Insect World:
- Clear Plastic Bin
- Coffee Grounds (Use this instead of dirt because it’s less messy and smells pretty good too)
- Rocks, Branches, Flowers, etc.
- Plastic Insects (We found ours at Party City)
Add the coffee grounds to the bin, arrange the natural elements, and hide the bugs among the rocks and branches. Viola! Now your child has a tiny insect habitat for play and discovery.
