Carpenter Ants are large (¼ inch–1 inch) ants indigenous to many parts of the world. They prefer dead, damp wood in which to build nests. They reside both outdoors and indoors in moist, decaying or hollow wood. They cut "galleries" into the wood grain to provide passageways for movement from section to section of the nest.

They can leave "sawdust" behind that provides clues to nesting location. If this wooden complex happens to be a wall frame within your home, structural damage will result. Moisture is the key component to look for when managing this species.

Carpenter Ant Protection
A wood boring insect, the Carpenter Ant can cause structural damage to your home in a short amount of time. Our Carpenter Ant program includes an initial treatment and six (6) full service visits. We perform a complete interior and exterior inspection to determine active infestation as well as visible damage. The exterior application includes the foundation, under siding, window casings, porches, decks and areas of wood to ground contact. The sub-structure application includes the basement or crawlspace, sills, sub-floors, joist and all pipe areas. Our application also includes your attic, garage and living spaces as needed.
Our application method includes a micro encapsulated crack & crevice treatment and new micro-injection technology, an injection based application that eliminates nesting directly at the breeding site, plus there’s no overspray!

Eradication
Catseye will extract or flush the Carpenter Ants from your wall cavity, ceiling, or any other place inside your structure. The nesting site will be followed up on in approximately 10 days (separate visit for eradication service) to eliminate any further adult activity or any egg deposits that survived the initial treatment. Catseye will also establish a perimeter defense on the exterior to prevent any new intrusion or transient behavior. For eradication services, Catseye will also produce a conducive condition report. The report may include moisture pockets, landscaping, woodpiles, recommendations, etc.

Do I need Eradication?
If Carpenter Ants are present on the inside of the home, there may be a satellite colony and the answer is YES. Eradication (interior elimination/extraction) should be performed before you go on the Platinum program or maintenance plan. Eradication may be avoided if the activity on the inside is recent minor foraging.
