What if the World Was Run by Rats?

A World Where Pest Control Companies Didn’t Eliminate Rat Problems

Remember “Pinky and the Brain?” A cartoon devoted to the adventures of a sneaky, conniving rat and his goofy minion trying to “take over the world” surely got a few laughs out of those who watched. But did it ever make you wonder: What if we lived in a world that was actually ruled by rats?

Even worse, what if Catseye Pest Control didn’t exist to eliminate rat problems when they arise?

Of all the pests known to take refuge in unwelcomed places, the one most people hate to see scurry in front of them is a the dirty, hairty rat. Now picture if these rodents were our rulers?

One Rat for Every Human on Earth

It is approximated that there is a ratio of at least 1 rat per human on Earth. So, where are they? Unfortunately, rats reside in all the wrong places — which means they are hard for us to find — no matter how much rodent control we attempt. They love to make their homes in buildings under floors, in walls or attics, as well as drains and garbage areas where there is an abundance of food and moisture available

If we think our population is growing at an alarming rate, consider a rat litter can have between 8 to 12 rats, and a female can have multiple litters in her lifetime. If rats were able to roam free without the threat of humans interfering, who knows how large their population numbers would multiply.

Rats Carry Over 70 Different Diseases

Rats are known to be one of the most unsanitary animals, carrying over 70 different diseases. Some of the diseases are even life-threatening, being transferred through bites, urine, saliva, and feces. Even though the Brain is shown to be a rodent genius that seems capable of taking over the world if his plans ever worked, it’s the Brain’s partner, Pinky, who more closely resembles the typical rat. With the limited amount of medical knowledge and technology that rats could ever possess, there would be no way to control or treat these diseases.

Along with not having acceptable personal hygiene, rats have an interesting hierarchy of authority that would be devastating to our already jeopardized society. Within each burrow there is an established alpha male, and as populations grow, there will ultimately be more burrows and more alpha males. These designated rats could become threatened, and when this happens, rats usually become extremely defensive and resort to physical harm. It would be disturbing enough to have rats running around us, and even more so if they were all fighting.

Prevent This Nightmare with Professional Rodent Control

Rats are already a nuisance — imagine them ruling us. To prevent a rodent takeover, it seems only appropriate to let us do our part in controlling Pinky’s population.
