The Value of Wisdom When Dealing With Bed Bugs

Wisdom is applied knowledge (the emphasis being placed on applied). It has been said that those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it. This especially holds true when dealing with bed bugs. As the inbound calls requesting relief from this problem increase, one thing remains constant. Amateur treatments produce amateur results. This sad reality is true of homeowners as well as untrained professionals.

Hence, this is one of those occasions better left to a trained professional. Bed Bugs’ unique biology and behavior has made them extremely difficult to eradicate. The lack of understanding of these factors has led to their rapid spread and to the mis-application of insecticides, where homeowners in a desire to rid themselves of this nasty blood sucking night invader have endangered their health.

The knowledge I have gathered over the years from the classroom, text books and the industry’s leading experts in this field have all stated to never underestimate their ability to survive. Education is an important facet of any Bed Bug eradication program. It stresses the partnership that must exist if the program is to be effective. Since we live in the generation of instant gratification, effective communication is a must if realistic expectations are to be achieved.

Therefore, as I review the history of this pest as well as treatments used to eradicate them, I am determined not to repeat the mistakes made by many in the past. Keeping abreast with the latest information and technology available will assist in assuring that I remain on the cutting edge in the field of treating Bed Bugs. Hence why I will never underestimate “the value of wisdom” I’ve acquired over the years.
