4th of July Weekend Pest Control Tips
Everyone at Catseye Pest Control hopes you had a fantastic 4th of July and have great plans for the rest of the weekend.
Here at Catseye’s headquarters, we celebrated 4th of July with a fun company lunch – our Red, White and Blue BBQ Potluck!
Celebrated on Wednesday, it’s always great to have our team get together to celebrate holidays. Whether we’re talking about fun work stories or life outside of work, these opportunities provide great times to bond and chat up – pest control keeps us very busy!
If your 4th of July celebration is continuing throughout this weekend, keep some simple tips in mind:
Wear bug repellent (and sunscreen!). If you’re spending time outdoors, make sure to spray yourself and your family members with bug spray repeatedly throughout the day, especially after you spend time in pools. Do it every time you put on sunscreen, which you definitely should do after each swim!
Keep food sealed tightly. Ants and other insects can ruin your picnic quickly. Make sure to keep your food inaccessible to insects that can make your food inedible and nuisance wildlife interested in running away with your snacks.
Move decorative plants away from BBQ areas. Your pretty flowers may attract helpful bugs such as bees that may bother your guests.
Make sure the screens in your windows and doors are working properly. If there’s good weather, you’ll want any nice breezes to flow right into your house. Check your screens to make sure they’re closing tightly and without holes that will let flies and mosquitoes buzz right in. Remind your guests to keep screen doors closed.
Check for ticks! Whether you’re in your backyard or visiting campgrounds, ticks may be hiding in the grass. Check yourself, as well as family members and pets, for any ticks that may have bitten you during your outdoor activity.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
